  27.        PRESIDENT APPOINTS AUGUSTINE TO CHAIR ADVISORY PANEL
  28.  
  29. (Washington, DC)    The President announced today that he has 
  30. appointed Norman R. Augustine as Chair and William T. Esrey as 
  31. Vice Chair of the President's National Security 
  32. Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC).  Augustine is 
  33. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Martin Marietta 
  34. Corporation and has previously served as Vice Chair of NSTAC.  
  35. Esry is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sprint 
  36. Corporation.

  38.      Also named to the NSTAC today were Joseph T. Gorman, the 
  39. Chairman and CEO of TRW Inc., and Albert F. Zettlemoyer, the 
  40. President of Paramax Systems Corporation and a Senior Vice 
  41. President of Unisys Corporation.

  43.      The President's National Security Telecommunications 
  44. Advisory Committee is a Federal Advisory Committee designed to 
  45. provide information and advice to the President regarding 
  46. telecommunications planning.  It is composed of up to 30 
  47. telecommunications industry executives.
